Frequently Asked Questions

Waterjet cutting is a precise cutting method that uses high-pressure water mixed with abrasive materials to cut through a wide range of materials, including Hardox. Hardox is a steel that is known for being hard and tough as well as being wear-resistant. At Wecjet we have many years experience working with Hardox on our water jet cutting machines.

Hardox wear plate is a very tough, wear resistant steel and its core hardness is a minimum 90% of the surface hardness, even when the thickest dimensions are in use. Hardox comes in various grades including HiTuf, Hardox 400, Hardox 450, Hardox HiAce, Hardox 500 and more. Each grade provides different levels of hardness. Speak to our team members to enquire about the right thickness for you and your project.

If left unprotected, Hardox wear steel is likely to corrode and go rusty. However, Hardox wear sheets come with a primer which protects them from corrosion. Hardox HiAce is a great option for those wishing to purchase wear-resistant and corrosion resistant steel with our waterjet cutting service, and is found in products such as refuse collection trucks, containers and recycling facilities. Speak to our team today and find out which Hardox grade is right for you.
