Specialist Strenx Water Jet Cutting Services

WEC WaterJet provides industry-leading Strenx waterjet cutting services from our state-of-the-art facility in Blackburn, Lancashire. Since 2013, we have combined advanced 3D motion control software with the cold-cutting precision of waterjet technology to profile high-strength structural steels like Strenx. By eliminating Heat Affected Zones (HAZ), we ensure that the mechanical properties and integrity of the material remain uncompromised, delivering high-tolerance components for the most demanding engineering applications.

STRENX WATERJET CUTTING SERVICE

High-Precision Profiling for Strenx® Performance Steel

When it comes to Strenx waterjet cutting, precision and material integrity are very important. Strenx performance steel is designed for high-stress environments, and our waterjet process is the ideal method to maintain its high yield strength.

Utilising three state-of-the-art machines, we can handle massive bed sizes up to 7.3m x 2.4m for materials up to 200mm thick, or 4m x 3m for thicknesses up to 300mm. Our computerised motion control allows us to achieve intricate shapes and complex 3D profiles with a precision that matches machined tolerances of +/- 0.1mm.

Whether you require single prototypes or high-volume production via our efficient stacked cutting service, WECJet provides the flexibility and capacity to serve critical sectors including Aviation, Offshore, Defence, and Quarrying.

Frequently Asked Questions

No. Unlike laser or plasma cutting, waterjet cutting is a “cold” process. This means there is no Heat Affected Zone (HAZ). Because the steel is not subjected to high temperatures, the original mechanical properties and high yield strength of the Strenx® material are perfectly preserved.

We have the capability to cut Strenx and other high-strength steels up to 300mm thick. For these extreme thicknesses, we utilise our 4m x 3m cutting bed, while our 7.3m x 2.4m bed is available for materials up to 200mm, providing one of the largest waterjet capacities in the UK.

Absolutely. Quality and transparency are central to our service. We offer full material traceability as standard for all our profiling services.
